AAG Members are required to be educated through course work, continuing education and industry experience and where applicable, tested according to the highest professional appraisal industry standards. Each active Member Appraiser must, at a minimum, be currently compliant with USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice). In addition, Member Appraisers must be active with, or have previously received, their qualifications/credentials though course work and testing by one of the three national professional personal property appraisal associations: The Appraisers Association of America (AAA), The American Society of Appraisers (ASA), or The International Society of Appraisers (ISA).

Members of the AAG are required to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics, which ensures:
  • Independent valuations without bias or outside influences
  • No Further interest in the subject property beyond valuation
  • Reports prepared only within the appraiser’s expertise
  • Objective value conclusions
  • Careful examination and documentation of property
  • Fees independent of the value of the item(s)
